SAVINGS AND INVESTMENT PRODUCTS
Every member must have a share savings account with a minimum balance of $25. This account earns monthly dividends based on the average daily balance. The dividend is declared monthly by the Board of Directors.
Savings sub-accounts may be set up to designate your savings for special items such as vacation or taxes. You receive a quarterly statement for your share savings account.
Share Draft (Checking)
The Share Draft account is the credit union's checking account. No minimum balance is required and there is a low monthly service charge. You can order checks through the credit union or elsewhere.
Your share draft account has overdraft protection which will automatically transfer the necessary funds (if available) from your share savings account to cover overdrafts. (There is a minimal charge for each transfer.) You receive a monthly statement for your share draft account.
Montana Medical Care Savings Account
This account allows Montana residents to save money for medical expenses and long-term health care. The money placed in this account (and the interest earned) is not subject to Montana state income tax if it is left in the account or used for medical expenses for the account holder or his/her dependents. If money is not used by the end of the year, it remains in the account and continues to earn tax-free interest. The maximum amount that can be used to reduce Montana taxable income is limited to $3,000 annually.
Share Certificates are an excellent investment opportunity if you do not need immediate access to your funds and want to invest for longer periods to obtain high rates of return. We offer a variety of terms and rates to meet your investment needs.
Start planning for your retirement today by opening an IRA account. With outstanding rates and funds that grow tax deferred year after year, an IRA account is an important part of your long-term savings portfolio. Dividends on IRAs are paid quarterly.
A Traditional IRA offers tax-deferred earnings and the possibility of tax-deductible contributions. A Roth IRA is funded by non-deductible contributions but gives owners the opportunity for tax-free withdrawals.
The Powerhouse Debit/ATM Card allows you to withdraw funds from your share draft account without ever having to write a check. You can make purchases at most places that accept credit cards and the purchase amount will be deducted from your share draft account. Plus, the Powerhouse Card performs all the functions of an ATM card.
